Moy Park takes over Marfrig Europe operations

Moy Park takes over Marfrig Europe operations

One of Europes leading food companies, Moy Park, is due to take responsibility for the leadership and management of its parent company Marfrig’s European operations.

The shift, which took effect Monday (15 April), has been announced as part of a reorganisation of the Marfrig Group, especially focused on its European operations, in a bid to become a leading global food company.

It will see Moy Park being responsible for around £1.5bn business turnover in Europe, with the European units of Keystone Europe, Seara and Marfrig operations all coming under the direction of Moy Park.

The reorganisation is also due to benefit its customers and open up further opportunities to access a wide range of Marfrig products not currently sold in the European market.

Newly appointed Moy Park Europe CEO Nigel Dunlop said: By bringing together the business units and functions currently operating across Europe, we can make better use of the respective strengths of each to better meet our customers expectations for innovative, high-quality and affordable consumer products.

Brazilian-based Marfrig, with its headquarters in São Paolo, bought Moy Park in 2008. Dunlop added that the changes will enable the company to develop and grow, building on the core strengths and capabilities of each business.

Moy Parks director of technical and food safety Ursula Lavery has been appointed technical director Europe on the Moy Park executive board. She will have responsibility across the newly brought-together European businesses.

Based in Craigavon, Northern Ireland, Moy Parks headquarters will be responsible for the new business unit, and will provide support in finance, information systems, supply chain, procurement and human resources.
