New Boss for the FSA

New Boss for the FSA

The Food Standards Agency has announced the arrival of a new Chief Operating Officer following the departure of Andrew Rhodes.

Jason Feeney takes on the role, following a job swap with Rhodes, which see the former FSA man move into the position of benefits director at the Department for Work and Pensions.

Feeney started his career in the Civil Service in 1981, joining the then Department for Health and Social Services – DHSS- and working in a variety of roles at local, regional and national level.

In 2002 he was promoted to the Senior Civil Service and spent two years as head of future pensions, before being promoted to director in 2005. Following a series of promotions Feeney was appointed DWP Benefits Director in November 2012, with responsibility for 22,000 staff delivering all working age benefits worth around £30bn a year to over 10m customers. He was made a CBE in the 2010 New Year Honours List.
