Tesco helps finance huge regeneration project in Streatham
Tesco has opened a new 63,000 sq ft store in Streatham as part of a major £27m regeneration scheme.
The Tesco Streatham Hub project, jointly funded by the retailer and Lambeth Council, also includes a leisure centre boasting an ice rink built above a swimming pool.
The project, which will eventually also include 250 new homes, a new bus interchange and create 1,000 new jobs has been in construction since August 2011.
It has been a triumph of design and construction said council leader Lib Peck – its created hundreds of homes and jobs too but none of it would have been possible without our partnership with Tesco.
