 We’re seeking an experienced time-served and multi skilled Engineer to join a growing team at an exciting time where this busy manufacturing site is benefiting from significant investment. More than ever Engineering remains business critical to ensure availability and efficiency of the equipment is a business priority. In this important role you will work as part of the maintenance team with a view to ensuring the very best in machine reliability working towards continuous improvement of production, and a preventative rather than reactive maintenance culture.


About the Role:

  • A hands on factory based role where you’ll be actively involved in both planned and reactive maintenance activity
  • To be part of a broader operational team motivated to deliver tangible improvement to engineering and therefore increasing overall operational performance and reducing downtime
  • Undertake a wide range of tasks including planned preventative maintenance and tackling breakdowns in order to maintain optimum levels of production efficiency / OEE within a LEAN operational environment.
  • Ensure rapid response and be a proactive partner to production teams
  • Continuous improvement activities and project support

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Electrically or Mechanically biased with proven experience working within a complex high speed FMCG, Pharmaceutical, or Automotive manufacturing production environment
  • Experienced in carrying out fault-finding on all plant machinery and equipment.
  • Served a full engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • A commitment to fostering excellent relationships across all other departments and a genuine enthusiasm for being part of overall site performance
  • Continuous improvement focused

  • Experience of lean manufacturing would be advantageous.
  • You will have excellent IT and communication skills in addition to having a flexible attitude to work as you may be required to work additional hours.
