We are seeking to recruit an outstanding category manager to join a multi-million pound branded and O/L food manufacturing business that supply chilled and frozen food products to the UK’s major retailers.
The business is renowned for its innovative product development and the exceptional commercial relationships they have with the retailers. Due to growth, they seek an exceptional talent to work within one of their biggest customer business units.
The Role:
- You will lead a team of category managers across categories and work in partnership with the commercial and NPD teams to establish a customer strategy which will be effective at driving growth, profit & market share.
- You will have full customer marketing responsibility for one of their biggest grocery retailers.
- Formulate sound range assessments, analysing key EPOS & panel data and devising formal recommendations, in terms of NPD, promotions, and range.
- Work in partnership with our retail customers to ensure that key selling lines have optimum space, pinpointing where increased facings can be justified.
The Person
- An understanding of the UK Retail market gained from working within a Branded or Own Label FMCG manufacturer.
- Proven track record of managing people
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and identify trends – and must “enjoy” deriving insights from data
- Knowledge of Kantar/IRI
- Ability to present and comment on complex data in a clear and concise manner. You must be able to adapt your presentation style to suit the audience.
- Must have strong numeracy skills
- Previous food industry and retailer experience/knowledge
