Melton Foods

In 1998 Samworth Brothers invested in £11m in a purpose built sandwich bakery in Melton Mowbray. This facility is dedicated to the production of a full range of quality chilled foods for Waitrose and Ginsters.
 
The 20-acre site is shared with Kettleby Foods and is set among beautifully landscaped grounds surrounded by picturesque Leicestershire countryside.
 
Melton Foods currently employs over 450 people making a diverse range of 130 quality products. These products range from sandwiches and wraps to party canapés.
 
A special walkway was included in the design of Melton Foods to allow visitors to view the entire length of the production line. This is a testament of the pride that Samworth Brothers has in it facilities, procedures, products and people.
 
The company was rewarded in 2005 with the Best Sandwich Manufacturer of the Year Award. A further testament to the success of Melton Foods.
 
Category champions for Waitrose. They manufacture 270 SKU’s and utilize 700 raw materials.
